The chateaux (French for 'castles') that produce the region’s famous wines are divided into distinct geographical areas, known as appellations.
Your full-day tour starts with a visit to a chateau in Saint-Emilion, where you’ll enjoy a Bordeaux wine-tasting session with your knowledgeable local guide. During the tasting, learn about the dominant grapes used in the individual appellation, and how factors such as climate and soil can enhance or influence a wine’s flavor.

Head to the the Bordeaux Tourist Office in the morning for your full-day wine tour. Relax aboard the air-conditioned coach as you travel to St-Emilion. On your way there, your guide will give you an overview of Bordeaux and its many wineries and vineyards.
Arrive in the St-Emilion AOC (Appellation d'origine contrôlée), a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage-listed wine region. One of the principal red wine areas of the Bordeaux wine region, St-Emilion is known for its blended grape varieties, particularly merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon.

Your first stop is a first classified growth château: Château Beau-Sejour Becot where you’ll take a tour of the cellar to learn about the winemaking process and enjoy a tasting of the château’s finest wines.

Next, head to Château Haut-Sarpe. Admire a beautiful view of the vineyards, visit the wine cellar, and taste the estate's elite Grand Cru wines before sitting down before sitting down to a lovely buffet lunch.

You’ll spend the afternoon exploring the village of St-Emilion itself, which dates back to the 8th century and is full of fascinating medieval history.
